Autobiography of a Yogi ~ by Paramhansa Yogananda
This is not an ordinary book. It is a spiritual treasure. Rarely does a sage of Paramhansa Yogananda’s stature write a firsthand account of his life experiences.
This spiritual classic has been read by millions. Followers of many religious traditions have come to recognize Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi as a masterpiece of spiritual literature. Yet, for all its depth, it is full of gentle humor, lively stories, and practical common sense.
The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ ~ by Levi H. Dowling
The story of Jesus, the man from Galilee, and how he attained the Christ consciousness open to all men. A complete record of the “lost” eighteen years so strangely silent in the New Testament; a period spent travelling and learning from the masters, seers and wise men in the temples and schools of Tibet, Egypt, India, Persia and Greece.
A Course in Miracles ~ Dr. Helen Schucman
A Course in Miracles begins… Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God. As its title implies, the Course is arranged throughout as a teaching device. It consists of three books: Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers. The order in which students choose to use the books, and the ways in which they study them, depend on their particular needs and preferences.
The Gentle Art of Blessing – Pierre Pradervand
How can a blessing change the world? According to Pierre Pradervand, making the conscious choice to bless every person or being around you can truly make a world of difference in yourself and in others around you. In The Gentle Art of Blessing, Pradervand shows that the practice of blessing has the power to create more than just a renewed perspective. It unleashes tangible benefits throughout your entire life — through your daily interactions, your life-long relationships, and in the way your approach your place in the world.
Pradervand describes blessing as genuinely wishing the best for another person through seeing their individual worth and honoring them for it. By looking at several different perspectives — providing spiritual inspiration from Hinduism, Taoism, the Koran, the Bible, and other important spiritual sources — The Gentle Art of Blessing explores the potential in shifting one’s attitude from confrontation and negativity to acceptance and enthusiasm. A powerfully simple way of perceiving and shaping our surroundings, blessings can reflect the unconditional love and acceptance that is necessary for world — and inner — peace.
The Urantia Book – first published by Urantia Foundation in 1955
The writings in The Urantia Book instruct us on the genesis, history, and destiny of humanity and on our relationship with God the Father. They present a unique and compelling portrayal of the life and teachings of Jesus. They open new vistas of time and eternity to the human spirit, and offer new details of our ascending adventure in a friendly and carefully administered universe.
The Urantia Book offers a clear and concise integration of science, philosophy, and religion. Those who read and study it believe that The Urantia Book has the capacity to make a significant contribution to the religious and philosophical thinking of people worldwide.
Note: I suggest reading this book by sections, there are four sections. The first section is very difficult reading because it is so challenging to our current day view of the universe. If you try this and are discouraged or disappointed I would recommend reading part four first. Part four contains the papers (chapters) about the life of Jesus. I found this reading to be quick and fascinating, with much more detail than is found in the Holy Bible. I could hardly put the book down. Save the challenging first section for later.
